Access and Parking Information

From Wednesday, July 8, through Friday, July 10, due to construction on Rue de l’Industrie, MuMAPS will be accessible only on foot.

Our visitors are invited to park at :

Parking du Platon, quartier du progrès, 1450 Sainte-Croix
6 min walk from MuMAPS

For groups or visitors with limited mobility, visitors can be dropped off in front of the former Museum of Arts and Sciences (10 Avenue des Alpes). Vehicles must then park in the designated areas:

to the station for buses
at the Platon parking lot for cars

Halloween at MuMAPS

Monsters, witches, and other ghosts are cordially invited to spend a spine-tingling afternoon at MuMAPS. On the agenda: face painting, a lantern-making workshop, scary stories, and the ever-popular music boxes and automatons. It’s sure to cast a spell on you before you head out on your candy hunt!

Lecture: The Sea Beneath the Jura Mountains

Throughout his lecture, based on the book of the same name published by Éditions Loisirs et Pédagogie, geologist Guy Della Valle takes us on a journey through a history spanning thousands of years. Combining scientific explanations, field observations, and an excursion through the Covatannaz Gorges, he unpacks the geological processes that shaped the Jura Mountains and teaches us how to interpret its landscapes.

Opening Reception: Richard Authier, designer

MuMAPS’ new temporary exhibition, in collaboration with ECAL (the Lausanne Cantonal School of Art), invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world of a pioneer of Swiss industrial design: Richard Authier. This pioneer devoted nearly his entire career to Paillard, a flagship company in northern Vaud, where he helped design its radios, Thorens record players, Bolex cameras, and Hermes typewriters.
