L’Atelier du Dr Wyss invites you to discover the living world of a music box workshop as it was at the end of the 19th/beginning of the 20th century.
Dr. Jürg Wyss (1943-2012), who moved to Sainte-Croix in 1977, is passionate about preserving the machines and tools used to make music boxes. In contact with many people working in local companies, he acquired a rich collection from them, which he set up in the form of a reconstruction of an old-fashioned mechanical workshop.
In 2009, Dr. Wyss donated the collection to the Musée des arts et des sciences de Sainte-Croix, which will manage it until 2023. From then on, the Association de l’Atelier du Dr Wyss will manage and promote the space.
