Price EMYA2026

MuMAPS is one of 35 museums nominated for the EMYA2026 (European Museum of the Year Awards). Seven Swiss museums have been shortlisted for the 2026 edition, a record for any country, including four from French-speaking Switzerland.

The EMYA Award

The European Museum of the Year Award was launched in 1977 under the aegis of the Council of Europe to reward excellence within the European museum community. Its aim is to support, encourage, reward and highlight excellence and innovation in the museum field.

Candidate museums are either newly opened museums (less than three years old) or museums that have undergone major structural changes.

The European Museum of the Year award is complemented by several other prizes:

  • The Council of Europe Museum Prize
  • The Kenneth Hudson Award for institutional courage and professional integrity
  • The Silletto Award for Community Involvement and Commitment
  • The Meyvaert Museum Prize for Environmental Sustainability
  • The Portimão Museum Award for Welcome, Inclusion and Belonging
  • Special Mentions

The MuMAPS application

Created from the merger of the Musée des arts et des sciences (1872), the Musée Baud (1955) and the Centre international de la mécanique d’art (1985), MuMAPS invites visitors on a fascinating journey to the heart of art mechanics and regional heritage. Opening in June 2024, it met the criteria for the EMYA2026 Award.
