World Watch Day<\/h2>\n\n

World Watch Day is an international initiative led by a group of watchmaking, cultural, and media institutions. Celebrated every October 10\u2014in reference to the symbolic time of 10:10 displayed on watch dials\u2014this day highlights watchmaking as a living heritage, at the intersection of art, science, history, and culture. It brings together institutions and enthusiasts from around the world through a program of events and content designed to promote watchmaking culture to as wide an audience as possible. <\/p>\n\n

The theme for 2026 is: “Time as Living Heritage<\/em><\/strong>“<\/p>\n\n

MuMAPS x Mec-Art<\/h2>\n\n
<\/div>\n\n

Mec-Art and MuMAPS are partnering with World Watch Day to host an international roundtable discussion (in English) on September 26, 2026, at the Cin\u00e9ma Royal. This event will be filmed and will also be available online starting October 10. <\/p>\n\n

Europe, the United States, and Asia will turn their attention to Sainte-Croix through a number of distinguished guests: <\/p>\n\n

The purpose of this discussion is to highlight the unique character of our region, which brings together\u2014within a small area\u2014all the expertise, knowledge, and techniques related to watchmaking and artistic mechanics. <\/p>\n\n

These practices, recognized as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, constitute an exceptional legacy, and their preservation, transmission, and promotion are now major challenges. The central question of this debate will therefore be:\u201cHow much time do we still have to safely preserve this living heritage?<\/strong>\u201d <\/p>\n\n
